MGCB orders 45 illegal gambling platforms to stop operations
The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) announced on April 7, 2026, that it has ordered 45 companies that have been illegally offering gambling services to residents to stop their operations.
The board has stated that the enforcement action has been ongoing for the past four months, during which cease-and-desist orders were issued against the offshore platforms that have been targeting Michigan residents without proper licenses.
The investigation found that all of the operators were accepting bets and offering casino games to residents, with the list including platforms like buffalocasino.com, FullHousePC.com, and EddyVegas Casino.
MGCB Executive Director Henry William stated:
“The scope of this action sends a clear message: Michigan will not tolerate illegal operators targeting our residents or undermining the lawful businesses that have invested in complying with state law. Our investigators work with unwavering focus to identify, document, and act against every unlicensed site that puts Michigan players at risk. This is an ongoing effort, and we will continue to take action against illegal gambling operators.”
According to Michigan’s Lawful Internet Gaming Act and the Lawful Sports Betting Act, companies that offer sports betting or online gaming must be authorized and licensed by the MGCB, and if operators don’t comply with cease-and-desist orders, they may face civil or criminal enforcement action.
The regulator has also urged residents to check the licensing of such platforms before registering and depositing funds.
